Miniature pumps for industry, medical & analytical technology
Micropumps for optimized installation space
The selection of pumps for medical technology, analytical technology and environmental technology differ in the optimization for pumping liquids or gases. Depending on the application, pumps are used for the continuous pumping of media, for dosing or for creating a vacuum. The pumps shown here are in the size range of micro- and miniature pumps and are suitable for pumping or dosing from nanoliters up to a few litres per minute. The miniature pumps are self-priming, so that an manual filling is unnecessary.
Dosing pumps liquids in analytic applications
High accuracy is a decisive factor when dosing liquids. Syringe pumps driven by a stepper motor are an ideal solution, as low resolutions can be repeated with high precision. Smallest design and miniaturization allow new areas of applications such as positioning the miniature syringe pump directly on a dosing head.
The micro dosing pumps, driven by a magnet, dose a fixed volume in the lower to middle microlitre range. The disadvantageous property of filling a syringe is eliminated with these pumps. The calibration of the pumps using a calibration screw is recommended, as the accuracy can change depending on the application and ambient parameters. You can read more about this in the technical documentation for the Micro Dosing Pumps.
Dosing applications of liquid media can also be realized using a peristaltic pumps. They are are offered as miniature pumps for flow rates from the nanolitre range up to a few litres. Peristaltic pumps with a stepper motor enable very small resolutions, in order to achieve the best dosing results for this type of pumps. Due to the rolling squeezing system and the variation of the tubes, the accuracy is significantly lower compared to syringe pumps and varies from pump to pump. Furthermore, these pumps can also be used for continuous pumping and due to a wide variety of available tube materials, they are suitable for many applications and media.
Miniature piezo pumps for continuous pumping of liquids
Piezo pumps are micro pumps which are driven by a piezo stack and therefore require a special control with 60 - 250 Vp-p voltage. The flow range can be varied over a wide range by changing the voltage or frequency. The small design, the low weight and the low power consumption, allow the use in devices with limited installation space, in mobile devices or devices where a low power consumption is required, such as fuel cells. Versions in highly inert materials such as PEEK, FFKM and PTFE allow the pumping of aggressive media.
Miniature pumps for air & gas in pressure & vacuum applications
Miniature diaphragm pumps are used in medical technology to generate a vacuum for conveying air, or in analytical technology to take a gas sample. For this purpose the pumps generate either a vacuum or an overpressure, which allow flow rates of up to more than one liter per minute, depending on the pump type. Because of the compact design and a long lifespan these diaphragm pumps to be used in a wide range of applications.
